GET YOUR STEEZ WITH FRINGE
PLUS-MODEL STEPHANIE PATENT CRUSHING ON THE TREND OF THE SEASON…
Fringe is totally in this season and we’re loving it! We caught up with plus-model Stephanie Patent of Bicoastal Model Management who was a featured model for NYFW Plus to get her take on the season’s latest FRINGE trend. It’s always great to get the fashion POV (point of view) of a model. Whether they’re on or off-duty, models have this magical power of jet-setting and advancing fashion, in a kind of effortless way.
PATENT’S POV ON FRINGE
I personally love the fringe trend but not the outright vintage-looking fringe that is reminiscent of 70’s style. For instance, I would never wear a suede hobo bag with fringe, even though I’ve seen some people rocking them and killing it. I prefer fringe with a modern twist.
During NYFW Plus I rocked fringe earrings by designer Phoenyx Reign in her Spring/Summer 16′ collection presentation- they went so well with her beautiful vegan-leather bags.
FRINGE SHOES ARE ON PATENT’S FASHION AGENDA
My favorite purchase from last season- was from Paul Andrew. I love the mix of fringe and tassels and how they reference the 70’s further with the metallic gold. But they combine that 70’s sensibility with an au courant block heel and no platform.
FRINGE ON FRINGE?
I never thought about wearing these heels with another fringed piece so I tried it with both a Blank denim jacket and a freebie bag from a fashion event I attended at the Javits Center. I think the “double-fringe” looks really shine when the look is all neutral with minimal accessories.
I personally prefer the shoes with a floppy hat…. But it was fun to try the double fringe. I never would have thought to rock fringe on fringe- it seems like the kind of thing that looks good in editorials only but doesn’t quite work in real life. I was wrong though–I personally think it looks cool and not over-styled at all.
Another fringe item that I love is this fringe skirt from Alexis. I came up with a beautiful white and winter-white look paired with a pop of color.
If you’re totally not sold on buying into the season’s latest trend…we suggest taking small steps toward incorporating Fall’s best trend in your look. Shoes are always a good starting point to try something new.

An over-the-knee fringed boot is amongst the most sexiest of fashion statements. They can be paired with a skirt, shorts, or a flirty mini and if you want to be daring you can even go for a little fringe-on-fringe action for a bold look.
