CELEBRATING CHINESE FASHION AT THE MET…
Every May, fashion fiends everywhere look forward to the Metropolitan Musuem of Art’s Costume Institute’s annual social-fete better known as the Met Gala. Co-chaired and hosted by Vogue’s Anna Wintour- this year’s theme was centered around the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s costume exhibition- China: Through the Looking Glass, totaling over 140 high fashion pieces.
These fashion pieces reflect Chinese art, design, and culture.

Although there were a few celebrities, who did not exactly dress according to the theme- I was amazed by the effort put forth by attending celebrities-in support of the theme- not straying away from both traditional and contemporary cultural Chinese fashion. My favorite looks of the night include, Sara Jessica Parker, Sienna Miller, and Lady GaGa.
Rihanna seemed to have nailed royal-traditional Chinese style- in a canary yellow satin gown lined with canary yellow mink fur, designed by Guo Pei. The dress made a bold statement. Very extravagant, and luxurious, yet obnoxiously unflattering.
